Pinhead Press Poster

For my Digital Imaging Foundation course in school, our latest project was called "Design Style Poster." Our objective was to design a poster that reflected a particular period in the history of graphic design. I chose to design a poster/magazine cover in the essence of Push Pin Studios, aka the movement created by Milton Glaser, Edward Sorel, and Seymour Chwast, amongst others.

I tried to imitate the characteristics of the period, such as the vibrant, cheerful colors and the dark lines. The line weight for the drawing could have been thicker, but I am satisfied with it for the most part. The piece is especially reflective of Milton Glaser and Edward Sorel's styles; it is a colorful poster with a slightly surreal style as well. 
The drawing was done in Photoshop using a Wacom tablet. The rest was done in Illustrator.
I also tried to use a font that would possibly work for an art-style magazine, as well as something that would fit in the era.
